One day, a rival clan chief moves his family into the other side of the castle. Ronja, now on the feisty cusp of adulthood, and the clan are still living in one half of the old dilapidated castle. The bird women continue being creepy.Ĭut to about 12 years later. ![]() Shockingly, no one is harmed and the robbers rejoice over their tiny, new addition. As Ronja is born, lightening strikes the castle and splits it in two. ![]() ![]() A storm is raging and some harpie-like bird women are being major creeps outside the castle where the robber clan lives. The story starts on the night of Ronja’s birth. Think The Adventures of Tom Sawyer crossed with Romeo and Juliet crossed with Swallows and Amazons. Peng and I suggested watching a svensk film and were treated to a classic from 1984, Ronja Rövardotter. Based on one of Astrid Lindgren’s many awesome childrens novels, it tells the story of Ronja and her experiences coming-of-age as the daughter of a robber clan chief in medieval Sweden. On Saturday we got together with some friends for dinner and a movie at their apartment. ![]()
